Anthony Zackery McCain, Born in Sacramento California was raised as the middle child of five in Spokane Washington where he attended North Central High school. Around his freshman year in high school McCain's family was struck with the tragedy of the loss of a loved one. His grandmother has passed away from Ovarian Cancer and this was a devastation to the family. His parents were often spending time at the hospital with the grandmother and this forced those more responsible to step up to the plate and take care of things like cooking and chores at home while his parents were away for the emergency. After the passing of his grandmother McCain made the choice to never let anything or anyone hold him back from success and making his parents and his grandmother proud. He then began challenging his self with A.P courses, he ran and was elected as A.S.B Treasurer, 5th executive and President runner up. Anthony was Choir president and participated heavily in the school he attended. Living in Spokane Washington and being French Creole, African American, Native indian and Irish McCain always had the issue of being the only African American student in the choir and theatre department but he didn't let this hold him back from giving his all. He played the leading role of Jim in Big River, the adventures of Huckleberry Finn at his high school and the production was nominated for several awards by the 5th Avenue Musical Theatre awards in Seattle, Washington. Anthony was selected to perform in Washington D.C at the Kennedy Center under the conducting of the world renowned Andre Thomas in the MENC Inaugural National Honor Choir. Anthony competed in Solo Ensemble and placed as the #1 Baritone Classical Vocalist in Spokane Region, Washington State and the all of the northwest. During his senior year in high school he was a National Finalist for Classical Singer Magazines Classical Singer Competition and He was awarded a full ride scholarship to the Oberlin Conservatory of Music for classical voice/ Opera. McCain isn't certain of where he wants to go or where his life is taking him but he's never been worried about his path because "our paths create themselves based on our gifts, aspirations and most importantly our hard work and detection." McCain finds it extremely important in the midst of success to be humble and to keep a tenacious attitude and its gotten him where he is and where he's going. Again McCain was recently offered a big time continuous contract and he has also been offered recording contracts with Major record labels in the past but he has made it clear that while all of that is extremely important, he wants to be educated. He wants to educate and challenge himself before he steps out into the world and thats exactly what he's doing and many people admire that about him. His main goal is to sing professionally. He wants to travel, perform and have a posative affect on other peoples life through music.  He plans to graduate from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in 2015 with a BA in Voice Performance.
